We are pleased to announce the International Symposium on Methodology and Research Methods in Library and Information Science. The event will be held between 22nd and 23rd of October 2009 in Ankara, Turkey.  

In the last fifteen years developments in information and net technologies have profoundly effected the process.of.scientific knowledge production.. Technology has changed scientists’ information seeking behaviours and presentation forms of.their products.

On the other hand, there is a tendency towards multi disciplinary and interdisciplinary studies, where we can observe the emergence of new approaches in handling and analyzing scientific problems in theoretical and applied scientific researches.. In this context, methods are gaining significans and choosing the appropriate method to solve a scientific problem comes forward in research studies. Library and Information  Science too requires new approaches and analyzing methods to solve research problems.

While information is getting increasingly digitalized and services are moving to virtual environments basic library functions such as identifying user needs, analyzing the users’ information seeking behaviours and utilizing from library materials and services at maximum level, requires to be handled through new approaches.Therefore our aim is to provide a discussion platform for researchers on research phenomena with all its parameters. We believe that the symposium theme has a priority for theoretical and applied research studies in library and information science.
